Career Summary

Ms. Swain has worked in the environmental industry since 1999, both as an environmental and laboratory technician, and, most recently, as an environmental professional for Four Corners. Currently Ms. Swain assists with the completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM standards, Phase II field exploratory work that has included soil vapor investigations, drilling and soil sampling, and groundwater sample collection and field monitoring, and asbestos investigations and asbestos abatement oversight for large municipal facilities.

Prior to joining Four Corners, Ms. Swain was trained by the City of Tucson and the Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Technician. While trained by the City of Tucson Ms. Swain completed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II field activities that included drilling and sampling, and surface and groundwater monitoring and sampling.

Ms. Swain also worked as a laboratory technician for Discovery Partners Incorporated, Systems Integration Drug Discovery Company and High Throughput Genomics, Incorporated. Ms. Swain’s technical laboratory experience includes planning, development, and execution of experiments in the pharmaceutical industry; organic and inorganic chemistry analyses; hazardous materials handling; solid and liquid phase chemistry analyses; and the use of computer automated robots for analytical procedures. Throughout the course of her employment with these establishments, Ms. Swain has gained a thorough knowledge of laboratory techniques and sample analytical procedures.

Ms. Swain will have enough experience to be considered an Environmental Professional under ASTM and EPA standards to conduct Phase I Environmental Assessments by June of 2009.
