Career Summary

Ms. Wolkowinsky has over 10 years of experience in the hydrogeological and geological fields. Her technical experience includes conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments in accordance with ASTM standards, compiling and interpreting well and groundwater data for modeling, and quality assurance and quality control activities.

Her areas of expertise include subsurface site characterization and environmental site investigations; groundwater flow analysis and regional correlation of aquifers; 2-D and 3-D seismic data interpretation; Gamma ray, resistivity, sonic, neutron and density wire-line log interpretation; lithologic and sedimentologic analysis of drill cuttings and soil samples; soil, groundwater, and air contamination assessment; and remediation activities, including operation and maintenance of vapor extraction and free product recovery systems.

Her technical experience includes evaluating groundwater level measurements for the purpose of mapping hydraulic equipotentials and flowlines; lithologic correlation to construct geologic cross-section maps; review of agency records (Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Arizona Department of Water Resources) to evaluate regional extent of groundwater aquifers; technical report preparation; supervising installation and development of groundwater monitor, air sparging, and soil vapor extraction wells; lithologic logging during well installation and soil sampling; sampling groundwater, soil, and air in compliance with ASTM methods and guidelines; extraction and separation of cosmogenic 26Al and 10Be from quartz, and chemical preparation of the nuclides for Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS) analysis; and running programs including IESX, StratWorks and GeoVis on an SGI workstation.

Prior to joining Four Corners in 2005, Ms. Wolkowinsky provided technical and analytical support to environmental and hydrogeological projects for Basin & Range Hydrogeologists, Inc. Prior to working with Basin and Range, Ms. Wolkowinsky also provided support to the Water Quality Compliance unit of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in this position.

During her Master's program, Ms. Wolkowinsky was responsible for compiling and interpreting well and seismic data to provide a synthesis of the chrono-stratigraphic and structural history of the Perdido Fold Belt in the Western Deepwater Gulf of Mexico for a major oil company. In addition, Ms. Wolkowinsky performed several studies for Northern Arizona University including metamorphic petrology of garnet biotite schists from the Grouse Creek and Raft River Mountains, Northwestern Utah, and chemical analyses to determine ferrous iron content of pure mineral separates.
